Set The Fire To The Third Bar

Well last night Cheryl Cole totally proved herself to be a good singer with Snow Patrol on Children in Need Rocks the Albert Hall - doing their song Set The Fire To The Third Bar - which was originally recorded with Martha Wainwright - so those were some big shoes to step into!

Anyway I thought it was a beautiful emotional performance and here is the audio from radio one this morn if you didnt catch it - click here

also here is a link to the original - click here

and here is a link to the lyrics - click here

but here are the lyrics anyways as they are so beaut

I find the map and draw a straight line
Over rivers, farms, and state lines
The distance from 'A' to where you'd be
It's only finger-lengths that I see
I touch the place where I'd find your face
My finger in creases of distant dark places

I hang my coat up in the first bar
There is no peace that I've found so far
The laughter penetrates my silence
As drunken men find flaws in science

Their words mostly noises
Ghosts with just voices
Your words in my memory
Are like music to me

I'm miles from where you are,
I lay down on the cold ground
I, I pray that something picks me up
And sets me down in your warm arms

After I have travelled so far
We'd set the fire to the third bar
We'd share each other like an island
Until exhausted, close our eyelids
And dreaming, pick up from
The last place we left off
Your soft skin is weeping
A joy you can't keep in

I'm miles from where you are,
I lay down on the cold ground
And I, I pray that something picks me up
and sets me down in your warm arms

I'm miles from where you are,
I lay down on the cold ground
and I, I pray that something picks me up
and sets me down in your warm arms

X Factor Result 08.11.09 - TwatTwins remain!?!?

I very rarely get angry at reality TV results – even if I don’t agree with the results most of the time I’m just like ah well so and so has been voted off – on with my life – doesn’t really bother me even if I don’t agree HOWEVER tonight’s X Factor result has made me REALLY mad.

The TwatTwins (John and Edward – mentored by Louis) remain and Lucie Jones has been kicked off the show – DUE TO SIMON – due to him letting it go to the public vote – rather than ending all the misery and returning his show to the talent YES TALENT contest it should be – it is not a school talent show – where the TwatTwins would of course be worthy winners – no this is a national TV show – that can change the winners life forever – that can make people’s dreams come true – and SIMON COWELL lets the TwatTwins carry on living their dream while the far more worthy singer Lucie has her dreams smashed to pieces!? Unfair to say the least.

I’m not sure I will bother to watch X Factor any more after tonight – what is the point?! The TwatTwins are set to win this year methinks – and that alone brings the whole programmes integrity into question.

A sad night to see Lucie’s dreams come crashing down – all I hope is that she carries on and gets a record deal! Simon just doesn’t want Lucie as competition for Leona – well Leona can sing yes, but she is a depressing, sour faced, vacant woman. Lucie is full of life and a breath of fresh air to the air heads usually singing pop songs these days.

GOOD LUCK FOR THE FUTURE LUCIE – I feel this is only the beginning for you!

LEGO Rock Band and Band Hero

Well - last night I got hold of these two games on the Wii - I wasn't sure what songs either of them had on but I was really pleased to see that both are very varied in genres and great therefore for PARTIES where not everyone loves to rock out to classic rock tunes as featured on most other guistar based games.

The two games are: LEGO Rock Band and Band Hero

The selection of songs on both are so varied and as I said before great for parties that I have made Spotify playlists for both games track listings! And as a special treat for anyone reading this (is anyone reading this!?!?) here they are for you to enjoy - click on the link to listen in your Spotify

LEGO Rock Band

Band Hero

There you go - just click above links and they will open automatically in your own Spotify

ENJOY !! :)

Pop Star Rant

Something has really bugged me of late regarding the female pop star music scene.

In haste - as I am off out for dinner - but Alexandra Burke's new song Bad Boys - see video link below - is REALLY GOOD.......sticks with a storyline in the video, she can sing, her outfit is great, it ticks all the female pop star boxes for me - and DAMN is this song catchy! It has been going round my head since I saw it on X Factor the other week.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Li_nzTVYpk8 - click there to watch it

The issue is.......Cheryl Cole was Alexandra's mentor on X Factor LAST YEAR right - so you'd think them both releasing songs at a similar time would be wrong for starters - not only this but who'd of thought it - Alexandra's song and video are GREAT and Cheryl's are NOT. See video below.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMiy_UsrPDs - watch Cheryl's less than good video here

The problem is Cheryl and team can't decide on a 'look' for her - so they thought hey let's just add all the different looks into one video!?!? NO - bad idea - it really doesn't work.

it's like lots of music videos in one - couldn't pick one outfit!? yes
you're pretty, yes you have great outfits, but sadly your song
sucks.......which is a shame i was looking forward to hearing it but
now - i am nothing but sad for you Cheryl!

Spot - my Cat

I LOVE my cat Spot! Can you tell!?

She is 5 years old and such a lovely little cat that we rescued from an unloving home a few months ago.

She loves to be WARM - if a radiator is on she sits with her nose pressed against it - bless! Spot loves to sunbathe too - she gets that from me :)

Spot also loves to be on your lap all the time and sleeps on you in bed too - but she does have her moments when she just wants to sleep alone - usually if you are busy and she has given up on sleeping ON you!

Heart to the Spottycat - loves you girl

Please say thanks....

Please mention where you got the material if you use
anything from this Blog for your own stuff - Thanks!

I miss those summer days......
